While it is true that the world Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends live in is not precisely real, this comprehensive set is probably about as close as you can come. It features 10 different train cars, two open bridges, one covered bridge, and operable track signals. The star of the set, as the title implies, is the roundhouse, which can hold five different cars that can be moved about using a rotating circular platform. But our favorite part of the kit is the large wooden toy box, inside which all the equipment can be stored. The box is shaped and painted like Thomas and has a comfortable padded seat, perfect for when kids feel like taking train play to a larger scale. As comprehensive as the Roundhouse set is, its still compatible with other Thomas sets so its infinitely scalable.
